“When I arrived a Breakthrough Wellness Centre I was down and out. I was homeless, jobless, and a complete emotional and mental wreck. Life had become all about drugs and my next high. I had lost and pushed away every family member who made an attempt to be near me and tried to help. My friends spent nights awake along with my mother helping.
Breakthrough Wellness Centre changed it all. An angel told me “ Do the right thing and blessings will come”, and so it did. Group sessions consisted of tears and laughter, days when my heart was heavy, the counselors were at my aid. Reinier, Oom Leon, and Tannie Linda became my family, fighting endlessly, and encouraging me every day to fight for myself and the life I can have.
Today I walk out of Breakthrough Wellness Centre a legend, who has conquered my fears and found my light once again.
My trauma is part of my story now, and no longer defines me. As for my blessings? Well, I will be facing my giant with my family behind me, in a warm, safe bed while doing what I love. All thanks to God and Breakthrough Wellness Centre.
